Charge battery then drive to a shop near by. Don't mess with your electrical system especially on one that expensive.
DON'T PULL CABLE OFF WHILE RUNNING!!!!!!!!!! it works for old cars without computers but you run the risk of computer damage on new cars.

It could just be a loose or warn fan belt. If the battery is over a couple years old it could be bad. Now days the voltage regulator is inside the alternator, so if you replace the alternator you'll get both.
It will save you a lot of time and money if you just take it to a garage and have it analyzed. Chances are if you disconnect the battery you'll end up paying $100 to get the computer re programmed.

with the car running, remove one of the battery terminals. The car should continue to run without the battery hooked up if the alternator and charging system is ok.
It could also be the voltage regulator is shot, which would be a cheaper fix than a new alternator.

Your car is too new to need an alternator replacement. My guess is that the alternator belt may not be on tight enough, so it's draining the battery. Or maybe it's just time to get a new battery.

orrr you could just take it to the nearest advanced auto or auto zone. have them run a test on the alternator. they will be able to tell you if it is not charging the system correctly.
