There are three good periods to visit Disney World during the year to avoid crowds...

Good - Anytime in the fall after Labor Day weekend through the week prior to Thanksgiving.

Better - January after the holidays to the week prior to Presidents Day weekend.

Best - The week after Thanksgiving through the week prior to Christmas. Just make sure you don't go to Magic Kindom on the Saturday they film Disney's "Very Merry Christmas Parade."

We have been to Orlando twice in January the last couple years and the lines for the parks were fantastic. At times it seemed like we had the parks to ourselves. We rode the Hulk 3 times in a row without getting off the coaster.

I would recommend March-April. That is the time of the year where it is not unbearably hot, and is also a season when there will be less people. If you are planning on going to the amusement parks, there will always be a crowd, though it is usually pretty managable during this period.
