Naruto episode 58, "Hospital Besieged: The Evil Hand Revealed!", was the episode in which we see flashbacks of Gaara's tragic childhood. It's the episode where I first start to feel sympathy for Gaara. Poor li'l guy. :(
Ahhh...gomenasai. The actual full-length flashback of Gaara's childhood (in full color) is in episode 76, "A Moonlit Night's Assassin" and part of episode 75. You can watch episode 58 if you want, but it's probably episode 75-76 that you want.
I think I should clear things up. Episode 90 involves the search for Tsunade. The invasion of the Sand and Sound arc in which Gaara fights Naruto at the end ended with episode 80.

umm..i dont know about the japanese one but in the english one i think its either late 50's or early 60's episodes when gaara has his flashbacks..
