That is true depending on the pill and level of hormones in the pill. Speaking from experience, when I was on the pill my desire was LOW which is really unacceptable since I'm married! LOL! But the hormones in some pills do reduce the level of desire. If your g/f or wife is having trouble, consider switching to a low dose pill.
But before you suggest anything, make sure the problem is with the pill and not something else. You know we women have to be stimulated mentally and emotionally before that desire kicks in. We're not all physical like men.

You want to know something even worse. Scientists figured out that since the pill works by tricking the body into thinking it's pregnant, that there is a natural hormone cycle changes the emotional triggers for pheromones for sexual preferences.
The change is simple but pretty bad. Normally, women's pheromone response selects men whom are genetically putting off the most "different" or "complementary" pheromones.
During pregancy and while on the pill, women's pheromones response select for men whom are genetically putting off the most "similar" pheromones, (usually family members - close relatives).
So basically when on the pill think twice or better yet, don't take the pill unless you are already involved or planning on hooking up indiscriminately.

I think that could be true. when I took the pill I was less interested in sex. I think it has to do with the natural process that a woman's body goes through every month that for the purpose of procreation, causes her to want to be intimate whereas the pill stops ovulation so the body doesn't give off the natural feelings that encourage mating. Not meaning to sound clinical but I think a woman's cycle makes her feel sexier at certain times of the month, the pill stops that.

There are variety of pills, each with its own mix of hormones, which is at the heart of this problem. A friend of mine had this problem (on ortho tri-cyclen), then switched to a new pill ... and things were much better!

I would say that my drive is about 80% when I'm on the pill vs. when I'm off (100%). It's really not that noticeable for me. Using condoms is more of a turn-off really.

Yes, it sucks, it has to do with higher estrogen levels in the pills.
But it all depends on how you approach intimacy. A girl can get super turned on regardless of the amount of estrogen she's taking.

This is a tough one. Some girls are effected hormonal and it does effect their sex drive but, tell her to see her GYN and if necessary, they will change to another type of birth control pill.
