Yes, the instituted taxes only as a temporary thing but now we are cursed with them.m The founding fathers felt taxation was not the way to do and so they fought the British; now we have it worse: taxation with no representation and a Bush Dynasty to boot.

It's not "Unconstitutional", meaning there is something in the Constitution that prohibits it. This all stems from the fact we never had taxes until the 20th century, mainly to support war efforts and it just sticked. Before that, we got by ok by taxing imports. It wasn't until the 'America First' crowd (Conservatives) wanted to tax them so much (imports) that everyone stopped doing business with us. Taxes were needed to pick up the slack.

Anyways nobody likes taxes, because 'hey', it's 'our money'. However, as the famous quote says, "Taxes are what we pay for a civilized society". Without it there really would be chaos or a heavy handed government...sorry, social programs are very necessary.

No. The constitution was penned in part to GRANT the power to tax. And yes, it says IN THE CONSTITUTION, that the power to tax is granted.

Article 1, Section 2. Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.

Article 1, Section 8. The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

I could go on, but you get it.

Limited taxes are not unconstitutional. Put constant taxing without any sort of representation is wrong. I'm sure the way we get taxed now a days is unconstitutional, because we get taxed but the infrastructure of the country is in terrible condition because most of the money goes to corrupt politicians.

Taxes are used for all kinds of things. Fireman, Policemen, and schools are just a few. Streets and highways are a few more. These are good things for our people. Do they waste alot, hell yeah. That's why, people need to keep an eye on the government and watch how they spend our money. And call Congressmen and Representatives to be thrifty and only spend what is needed.

Being that one of the main reasons for the American Revolution was taxation without representation, so taxes would only be unconstitutional if you were not represented by the government. Puerto Rico has no representation in government, and because of it, don't have to pay taxes.

If you want a government, you must pay taxes. Taxes allow governments like ours in the US to function and provide us will public services and laws and protection. There really are laws that make you pay taxes. Try not paying them and you will be fined or sent to jail for tax evasion.

Of course taxes are unconstitutional, particularly during George the II's reign of terror. Nothing is unconstitutional if the president has his good friend Gonzales say it is not so.
Rest assured, everyone gets to keep their money and take someone else's money if they have a big gun and are willing to use it.
This is the NRA way!

Check out Article 1, Section 8, in the Constitution! It is referred to euphemistically as the "necessary and proper clause." It allows Congress to create laws not specified in the Constitution, among other things. Yes, taxes are constitutional. Without them, this nation could not exist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
