OK, I think something's stuck in my nose and I have no idea how it got in there. But last week, I had some nasal discharge from one of my nostrils that is clogged up and when I did nasal irrigation, I flushed out something that looks like a ball of black thread. Yesterday, I had the same sensation in my nose and I nasal irrigated but it won't come out, I think it went further down into the back of my throat. What should I do? If I go see a doctor, what would he do? Would the procedure be complicated and expensive? I'm short of cash right now.

If the object is not visible, they will probably send you to a ENT(ears, nose and throat specialist) A scope can be done to remove the object. How are you irrigating your nose? If it a a saline spray that your squirt up your nose, you may only be pulling the object back up in. You need to have something like a Netti pot. Goes in one nostril and out another. Then see if you can blow it out.
