People get killed by the terrorist attacks. And I strongly believe that terrorism is the biggest challenge and threat to countries around the world in the 21st century !!!

When other countries look at the US, all they see is their foreign policy. So, although the war on terror is only part of what goes on in America, that's all other countries see. And when they see that, they assume that that is all we think about, "fighting terrorism." Whether people agree with us or not varies, but there are many people who dislike US because our foreign makes us look like "war mongerers" for some as opposed to "peace keepers."
Think about another country, there's not much more you can say about that country than their position towards us and our ideals.

The last time we had any terrorist activity here in New Zealand was when the French blew up the Rainbow Warrior in the 1970s. At the time France got heavy with us and said if we dont give back their "soldiers" they wouldnt import export our stuff etc. Being a small country and all it had a BIG impact on our economy (not that i gave a hoot) but our Govt crumbled and gave them up to spend the rest of their sentence...2 years on an island in paradise (south pacific)
Other than that we live happily with all ethnic groups

Well, any kind of terrorism (including State terrorism, like the US gov) wants to control the people by its fears. Anyway, its one of the worts threats for the world and coverall the new generations that could still whit that kind of methods.

brings down tourism to that country
It tacks on a negative impression of everyone else in the country.
It makes that religion look bad
puts travel agencies (air, land, and water) pump up security and less people are willing to use them for internal or external travel.
makes people want to close their doors to the Middle east.
