I agree with the 1st answer. Don't even think of plugging power into the USB jacks. You will burn out the USB ports and probably the motherboard. the power supply is protected against power surges and brownouts. the rest of the motherboard and the USBs are not because the power supply takes care of it.

A DC jack breaking is a common problem with laptops, the only way to repair it is to repair that DC jack.

That's really the only answer.

Edit: You don't have to replace the motherboard or anything, just that jack needs to be replaced on the motherboard. Usually the jack is fine, but just needs to be re-soldered. If the jack is bad, they run $2-$25. The labor will be the high part, $100-$200. If out of warranty.

No, sorry. The current used by USB devices isn't anywhere near the necessary voltage needed to charge a battery. Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer and get a new motherboard. If it's still under warranty, they will replace it for free.
