you have a problem with your thermostat if you can put it on fan only and it runs.if it dos`nt run at all it`s probably the fan motor.

Normally a furnace with the power cut from it will not even try to start so I suspect your power is good.
When my blower moter went there was a definite burning smell. I had the motor shutdown within a minute yet it still smelled pretty bad. It's the type of smell that sticks with the motor too.
The smell should be an easy check.
If the motor smells good I would shift my attention to the fan starting relay.

Is it a variable speed 2 stage, just 2 stage or single stage. If anything depending on age you might need it replaced. Alot of times people dont change the filter. Distroying the blower. Check your warrenty if its still good contact trane and they should replace it for free.

it could be the motor relay is faulty or the motor itself. if you can get to the fan, try giving it a push when it is supposed to be turning. if it takes off, the motor needs repaired or replaced.

It may have a censor for a dirty air filter so check that first. Also check the elec. breaker.
