great question! It depends.
If there are only 2 of you on the elevator,you gotta own up to it.
If there are three or four people it depends on if it was noisy and obviously from you. If so, own up to it.
Five people or more, it's too hard to tell the source, so ignore it.

I think it depends on how proud you are of it.....remember in the movie Liar Liar....yeah - like that....lol. My son would yell - MOM, I FARTED!!! He's awesomely proud of it!!
