going into high school, they feel like they can refresh there image, since most of the time they are meeting a lot of new people in high school.

As a self-professed nerd, I can earnestly vouch that most of these nerds in question do so because they feel misunderstood and want to experiment with different realms of society. Some were bullied because of their intellectual prowess; whereas, others were merely shunned. In this respect, that is why they turn to this alternative lifestyle. However, I'm glad to say that I never turned that way. Although unconventional is defined as 'cool' to a lot of my fellow nerds, I will have to agree with the mainstream in their respect of this unconventional lifestyle that's its obviously weird.

Most nerds 'turn' because they feel the need to stand out more and be either feared of respected. they like the attention, but most won't admit to it because they are either ashamed or haven't come out of their nerdy self consious attitude. i can say from experience, i have many friends who are like that. but me i'm still a nerd and proud to be one! Nerds Rule!!!

what does goth mean to you, and what does emo mean to you. I was always goth (since i was twelve which is before middle school) i liked dark art and dark writing and my favorite colors are black and red. so what do you mean by goth and emo.

Because they are desperate to be excepted by something. And those social societies give them a place to fill loved and not shunned for being different. And really to be completely different from the people that made fun of them.

they needed more friends? wanted to be part of a particular group? wanted to stand out? family problems? but im sure most nerds stay nerds.

i do no longer pass to college, i'm fifty two. And confident human beings probable do think of i'm strange,as i'm very plenty Medieval Goth/Vamp contained in the way I dress. yet whilst others can no longer settle for me as i'm, it incredibly is their Loss. in no way mine.

they always have it in them and its not always geeks or nerds but when the get out of middle school they mix easly with that croud rather then the rest.
