take another pregnancy test, it may have been too soon to tell, or just inaccurate, sometimes periods are irregular, but if you are always on time then there might be a problem, go check with a doctor!! make a appointment to be sure....check out this website too, there are some good Q&A's on this type of thing, good luck!

Before you started what? If the test was negative you could still be pregnant and may want or need to take another one in a week or two.

How long before you started did you take it? I would wait until you know you are late. You can take one 3-4 days prior but it's not certain. Plus--did you start? If you did then it was correct! No menstrual cycles during pregnancy!
