Considering that I find myself at a different point in time than I was five seconds ago, I guess I must be doing time travel even as I type this...
In general, forward time travel is theoretically possible at any speed. An asymtote exists at zero making it impossible to cross and travel backwards in time.

Theoretically, many scientists say yes.
It's just a matter of traveling rapidly, like, near the speed of light.
Reason why it isn't possible yet: the enormous amounts of energy (and other resources) it would take to build and operate a time machine.
Ummm... Going back through time? There are simple ways. The first simple, technical ways of going backwards in time would be...
+Wormholes
+Black/White holes
If one were to open a wormhole near the opening of a black hole, time would be slow there. Much slower than at the other opening of the wormhole.
You would be able to travel back minutes, hours, days, months... (years?) using that method.
Then, there is another theory that is being played around with; if one were to go faster than the speed of light.
That would turn back time. But then again, when one reaches the speed of light, the object/person is of an infinite mass and infinite energy. So... that's at least why scientists say it is impossible.
But then again, it might be possible to go back in time. I am reading a fascinating book on the Varying Speed of Light theory that might just replace Einstein as Einstein himself replaced Newton.
In a nutshell, it is all theoretical right now. Almost anything is possible given some time. :P

Forward time travel? Yes. Like everyone else is saying, we're going forward as we speak.
Backwards?
Hypothetically, if we were to invent a machine that would send us to say, Germany in 1843, we would find ourselves there. The only thing is that we would not have time traveled in the exact sense. Chances are, we would be in an alternate world, for we did not exist at that place in that moment in time.
And alternate worlds is a headache inducing topic.
I guess the same could be said for forward (as in jumping from now to ten years).
On a side note, I once read in a book about the Philadelphia Experiment, that humans have what are known as 'time locks'. Meaning that we're seeing time as linear for we become linear creatures and that after we die or lose our locks, time sort of unravels. Just a little food for thought.

No. There are infinitely many paradoxes that could occur if one were to travel in time, especially backwards in time. Consider for a moment that it were possible to travel backwards in time. I could go back in time before I was born and shoot my father. This would mean I would never be born. Since I was never born, I could not have existed in the future to go back in time and kill my father.
However, I think it might be possible to view past events without actually being in the past. Consider the fact that when you make a video recording of an event, one can view the event at a later time. Perhaps the universe has a built in "video tape" of past events that one could view.

I think Time travel is not possible, albeit it's a fascinating subject. Travel is inherently a geographical function. As humans we use our memories to travel "in time" to something that has already occured. Although it is impossible for us tto physically go to that locale, the experience can be had by your imagination. If there ever would be a way to travel in time, it would have to be through our memories and it would be a virtual travel rather than a physical one.

I say time travel is possible. I say that even if one travels through time they can not create a paradox of any kind. Remember time travel is either skipping through time or going backwards in time. Just because one second as passed doesn't mean your traveling through. You must either skip time or live through a repeat in time.

they say that going to the future is possible. Breaking it down simply, get in a machine that moves faster then the speed of light and get to point A to point B faster then milla secs and technically you time traveled. Going back to the past is a different story. They say its much harder to do and the physics of it makes it almost impossible.

If you travel farther away from the earth in space and carry a radio transmiter somehow you slowly begin to hear voices change. They begin modern when you're close to the earth, then the farther you go, it goes waaaay back to WW2 until you hear no voices at all since the radio a few hundred years ago never existed.
THAT is time travel.

time travel is currently not possible but time dilation does exist and is an important factor in many things that move relatively fast.
