Bell peppers come red, yellow, orange, and green. Are they all from the same plant but picked in different stages of growth?

All bell peppers start out green then turn the color of the strain of pepper they are. Red, orange, and yellow are individual varieties that mature to the different colors. Wikipedia explains it better than I:

yes they are all from the same plant.

They start green, turn yellow, then orange and then finally red
