Actually Mindanao is considered "The Land Of Promise", but yes Davao is a part of it.

Mindanao, "The Land of Promise", is considered by the Filipinos, to be a frontier, with great resources and beauty. It has "promise", for future developement. Thus "The Land of Promise"

Part of the land that was promised to the complaining natives of luzon but we cebuanos got here first.
