Go to school! I dropped out, worked, got married, had a kid, divorced, moved out on my own for the first time, and started school without a job. I'm in my 30's, but in a couple of years, I'll be a Pharmacist and have an awesome job. When you go to school and work hard, the right people will understand. They'll look at how long ago your record was and what you've done since then. Good luck.

Whether you are 22, 32 or 42, you are never too old for education. As for your felony, don't beat yourself up over it. You are not the only person in the world to have made a mistake and as long as you have learned from the experience and turn yourself around, you can overcome it. A degree is not a waste of time nor a waste of money... it's an investment in your future. Why not talk to a probation officer, counselor or social service agency that works with former inmates for a more positive outlook on what you want to do, why you want to do it, and how you can get over the past and start investing energy into the future. You have another 40 or so years of working life... make the most of them by doing what you want to do with them. You can do or be anything you want to be as long as you put 100% energy into planning and achieving your goals. Start now to develop a new attitude and you'll find a world of opportunity out there. Don't wait 5, 10 or 20 years and say "I wish I would have...." ... It's time to be your own best friend!!!

Your young I started started College when I was 29. So don't worry about your age. The Felony part. You might have some work to do. It would be different if it was DUI, Mot paying a traffic ticket, But Robbery? Don't lie on you resume they will find out. Your felony might not wipe itself clean until you have about 10 years of experience and You haven't been in any trouble. FYI - 10 years goes fast!! Finding a job will be hard @ 1st based on your background. Hell I have a hard time myself.

Depending on your degree I'd start out by doing an Internship your junior or senior year in college (see your majors academic advisor) usually the company will hire you after you graduate and they will most likely not judge you on your past. Another option is working with a couple of recruiters. You find them on the interenet. Not going to college will hurt more than if you did. Plus if your anything like me waiting until I was older helped. When I was younger I didn't pay attention or study etc.. When I got older I grew more patience, and did better in school. your first year will be the true test. you just have to get into a rythme and remember why you are there & do your work. Take it seriously when your physically in school. Good luck!

You're never too old to start college.

If YOU have the drive to succeed in college, your age isn't going to matter. You aren't going to be so different. You're 22. There are students who are older than 40.

College is NOT a waste of money. Even if you have a felony, you're going to get a head start.

Hey, it's never too late to start. Many people much older than you are going back to college. 22 is not that old in the grand scheme of life!!

If you continue to keep your record clean (except, of course, said felony) and get more education, employers will see that you are working to make more of your life. We all make mistakes and most especially when we are young.

Go for it!

some senior citizens in their 60s or 70s still go back to college just to sharpen their mind or perhaps to feel they have accomplished something in life. you shouldn't feel embarrassed that you're starting college. you are a step closer to making one of the best decisions in your life. don't let anyone discourage you.
