British. Many of the US sit-coms were actually adaptations of British Comedy Shows.
Sanford & Son = Steptoe and son
Three's Company = The Liver Birds
Men Behaving Badly (British version a masterpiece...US version a flop)
The Office (British version waaaay better)
In addition British comedy has classics like Red Dwarf, The Young Ones, One Foot in the Grave, Waiting For God, Faulty Towers. Need I go on?

I find American hummer to be drie and coming off to me as a drama with a lot of stupid people doing stupid things and looking stupid.For an example Dumber & Dumber, Dude were's my car.I never got Cramer,Sinfeld,Freinds, Meryed with children,And the best comeidian on Evry one loves Raymond Peter Boil just diede.No comedy on N.B.C, A.B.C, C.B.S, Dos it for me.Fox has and had some good ones on sunday nights but thats it.The old ones don in the 60's and 70's were good.Then the 80's came along and evry thing but Cheers and Frasher whent down hill.

I love american comedy but the brits are coming up the ladder. There so funny and i think there great! I think you like the brits best, dont ask me why because i dont know.

The Brits are pretty darn good, Benny Hill for example, I would have to go with the Brits.

i like american better but there are some great British comics. ie; benny hill, and mr. bean to name a few. most of their comedy has sexual overtones!
