I also have at&t. You may have an old router. Call them up. I also had a problem. I called and they sent out a guy to check the line. After they checked the line, my internet worked fine for a week or two, then it slowed down to one tenth the speed. They changed my router, for free under warranty.

The number for residential customer service is 1-800-515-7272.

Any browser you have should work, whether IE, Firefox, Opera...

I had the same problem with at@t yahoo internet. Besides checking the option to never dial a phone connection, I would advise you to not even waste your time trying to figure it out and simply call the at&t yahoo help line number that is included with your router's instructions. First of all, just because you received your equipment from at&t yahoo does not mean your service has been activated. My equipment came a few days after I signed up for it, the receipt inside said my service would be activated three days after that, but after struggling to connect I finally called att&t yahoo and the representative told me my service would not be activated until a week after the date on the receipt. Also, once my service was activated, the representative walked me through the actual connetion set-up. I use the word actual because the set-up he walked me through had very very little to do with the steps indicated in the instructions that were included with the router. And then, if you actually want to use your at&t yahoo connection wirelessly, the representative will walk you through the wireless set-up, and these instructions were not included anywhere with my router shipment. Don't waste your time trying to do it yourself. Have them walk you through it. Call them now. It's free, too.

Open IE, click Tools, choose Internet Options. Click on the Connections tab on the top. Choose Never Dial a Connection. Choose Apply and click OK.

if you are running any version of MS Windows, Internet explorer is your "web browser".
