does applying undeclared or undecided as a freshman applicant hurt my chances of getting admitted to the UCs?

It doesnt hurt your chances of getting into the college but may hurt your chances of getting into competitive programs within the college.

no, but fancyname is right. i declared my major as marketing before i even started and i was automatically admitted into the business program for upper-level students. so i did my first two years in the liberal arts and then started right into the business program. if i was undeclared, i would have had to apply to the business school for acceptance during my second year and may not have gotten in then.

u can always declare a major and change it later..I did that 5 times. you will take gen. ed classes the first 2 years anyway so that will give you time to decide and then you won't get left out on anything
