The number of revolutions vary. It is just a timer so you can schedule oil changes and other maintenance. For example, a bulldozer doesn't have an odometer to measure miles.

The hour meter is simply how maintenance is scheduled. Most diesel engines run in static positions (boats, tractors, generators) Maintenance for filters, oil, etc is scheduled at specific run time hours. The hour meter runs when the engine runs. RPM is generally not considered.

there's no conversion for hours to miles a great number of contractors leave a motor vehicle working whilst doing an estimate or measuring a job internet site and that they don't look to be using everywhere the motor vehicle is in simple terms at idle. the hour meter measures hours and odometer measures miles. Sorry

A diesel engine is designed to run a certain number of hours under normal usage. When it reaches this point, it is time for the engine to be rebuilt.

an hor meter is used for a diesel engine that remains stationary. like a generator motor, can't put miles on it, like a truck motor, so they put an hour meter on it for wear and maintenance schedule.that is the short answer.

If your machines require maintenance at regular intervals, continuous measurement of operating time or operate under warranty or you need the operating time of a device for any reason, you need an ENM hour meter.

hr metters are used to calculat servicing on diesels that ge tmore hours than miles.
the conversion is 45 miles per hour ,so 100 hrs of service is equivelant to 4500 mile
maintenance is then set by company requirements
