That will depend on what state you are in and where you are working.
Unfortunately, MA's typically don't make that much, but they get great benefits.
Whereas a Cosmetologist will make more if you are in a bigger city, but you don't get very good benefits, and you have to work your way up by building your own clientelle.
I would say, go with your heart.
If you want to play with peoples hair all day, do that.
If you want to take care of the sick and draw blood, do that.

My wife is a cosmetologist, she makes decent money, but most of the money comes from her customers Tips! shes never without money.... :)

MA's really don't make anything. I learned the hardway.
Unless you want to be a glorified filing/insurance slave that will draw some blood or do a urine sample here and there, don't waste your time with the 2 years of school to get your degree.
