This is why SHORT WOMEN SHOULD STOP HAVING KIDS!?

Question

Why do I always keep hearing that short girls want to marry a guy who's tall so their kids would be tall?

Don't they know that, though genetics, height is PASSED DOWN THROUGH THE MOTHERS SIDE? Case in point, me. My dad is 5'10" and my mom is 5'1". I'm a 5'4" 23 yr old male Stanford psychology student. Subsequently, I have remained a virgin, never had a girlfriend, and had to suffer my mothers repugnant genetic sins and live life as a 5'4" cripple.

Notice in the second paragraph of "Determinants of growth and height" it says:

"Genetically speaking, the heights of mother and son and of father and daughter correlate, suggesting that a short mother will more likely bear a shorter son, and tall fathers will have tall daughters."

I know some of you will say "not true!," but cases where a mother is short and her sons are tall are only if that mothers father is tall. If you're a short women with short parents your son WILL be short.

so, SHORT WOMEN - Please stop having kids so they won't have to suffer like I do.

Are you seriously REALLY in THIS forum (pregnancy) telling us women (many of whom are average-sized females) to NOT have children?? Are you serious? Don't you have some studying for finals to do? Seeing that you like to throw around that you're from Stanford I would have assumed you would have more common sense and tact than to waste all our time blaming us for your height. Do you think we're trying to breed Hobbits or something? Women have children because they love, care, and desire to raise another beautiful human being. I'm sure your mother would say the same thing. My mom is 5'9 and I am 5'3. My husband is 5'5 and at 2 my daughter was 3'. Your mom's height, while it might contribute to your height, is only half of your genetic code.

Have you ever thought that you are 23 and a virgin because you blame women for all your mistakes? Besides, maybe you are really looking for a tall man to take you under his arm.

I'm 5'3 my dad's 5'6 i have two sons. Stop blaming your shortcomings in life on your lack of height. Many short men are perfectly happy. My father was a marine a sharp shooter very good looking his heigh has never affected him. If my sons are short so be it. My son's father is 6'4 SO MARRY A TALL women and get a tall son.

good character is how ppl are and should be judged. from your little tirade it sounds like you're a miserable man who wishes to lose his virginity but couldn't see his own miserable character as the reason why no girl likes him, and blames his mother for his "disability (see cripple)". i have a short friend, and the guys she used to date were guys at least 5'5" in height. she never thought she'd date or be with a tall man. but guess what? the other guys were jerks to her and she found a tall, loving man. so does height have something to do with finding love or getting laid? no. character does.
also, if you just want to lose your virginity, see the definition for prostitution. but if you really want to find true love, see the meaning of character.

Man, you are really being hard on yourself. You are apparrently a very smart person, and probably have many friends. I think you should not worry about your height. God has someone just for you who will love you no matter how tall you are or anything else. Trust me, I don't like some things about myself, but I found the one that God had for me, and he is wonderful. Just talk to God about this, tell him you are lonely, and see what happens. I will pray for you that you will see yourself for the great person you are. Plus, alot of women think short men are sexy!

I think you are playing the victim and blaming your mother. Many health tall people end up having kids that are deformed or have a mental illenss. You are healthy and normal, so stop looking for a reason to blame other people because you couldn't find happiness

End your misery and kill yourself.

Height does not define a person, but his character does. Anybody who has a functioning brain will know this. There is a plethora of women under 5'4" who would date someone just slightly taller than them. I know this because I have dated men shorter than you! However, if you remain to be bitter and sex-driven, you will always remain to be a single virgin male who doesn't have a life because you're so caught up with your height and not the more important things in life.

I am 5'1". My mom is 5'1". My dad is 5'5".
I have two sons - one is 18, and he is about 5'9". The other is 14, and he is 5'9" already but on his way to being 6' according to the doc.
The father of my children is 5'11".
My mother's mother was 5'0".
