This is a very complex question. Who is a terrorist? Why?
1)
Remove your predjudice. Realize that the average Palestinian is in poverty, the average Iraqi is in poverty, the average Middle Eastern person is in poverty and religion is oppressed and likewise often the poor are oppressed. The US gov. buys oil from these governments and props them up.<---This is a huge problem that is going under much scrutiny, alternative fuels.
2)
The meeting although, it asks "if the Holocaust happened" is really an exploration of the Holocaust and the aftermath. Clearly, the finding will be, that from a humanist perspective, wrong was done to the Palestinians and the state of Israel appears to be under a Zionist regime. That is a racist government, even if it be democratic. I do not believe that it is necessarily a Zionist government, but if you try and understand Israels place and the way people go to Israel the problems becomes more obvious. Let's take a look:
Israel is in the holy land and ruled by Jews, so it looks like the Israel of old. Jews are invited to live there. So, what do you get? Extremist Jews come to Israel to take over the Middle East. OK, so then what can the government do?
Crack down?, and splinter the people and have internal and like still have external strife.
Pay us?, and decimate the country and have internal and external strife?
Nothing looks good...

That is the point. If there is a way out of this mess, neither the Middle East or Israel itself can get out without help or warfare.

I answered this question, because you crack me up, and I wanted to give something back.

Since day one of recorded history, terroism has been a fact. When we understand that we might understand how a human chooses to become an activist. A terrorist is nothing more or less than an activist. They use the Fear and Terror as a way to bring notice to whatever cause they are told to.
In 1700s Americans were Terrorists. We dressed up like natives, burned and sank the boats in the Boston Harbour.
So terrorism works, we used it ourselves.
Do you feel freedom when you use the telephone. Do you feel freedom when you read a book. State Sponsored Terroism is Fascism, welcome to America.

No, not that kind of understanding. But yes to understanding what a huge threat they are to Western countries and act accordingly. Nothing will happen from talks. We need to unite with other Western countries and be willing to fight for our freedom.

You don't have to empathize with them.
But there is a saying: "Know your enemy," by an ancient warrior named Sun Tzu. The theory is, the best way to defeat your enemy is to understand what makes them tick. If you can push their buttons, or figure out what they will do under certain circumstances, you have a better chance of defeating them.

Undergrounding them will work better.
They are religious fanatics, the worst sort of psychothug.
trying to reason with them is like trying to teach a pig to sing
it wastes your time and it p*sses off the pig.

if you can take away the enemy's motivation... the war ends...

the sooner you can do that... the cheaper it is, both in lives lost and money...

the most successful military leaders in large scale conflicts, are those that can take away that motivation the quickest and most effectively...

knowledge can only help... it never hurts...

and you can learn and fight at the same time...

We can "understand" why they do what they do. But that is not going to stop them from attacking us.

I understand them. They want us dead. Enough said. Now we must kill them all one by one till they are in the promise land of a thousand little boy virgins.
