Well, how about a digital frame? It's pricey (approx. 149.99-299.99), but worth the money - it is a picture frame that plays a slideshow of about 50 pictures....

baddestbi is absolutely right! I am a grandmother. I know. For me the greatest thing a grandchild could do would be to give me a new photograph of himself or herself, or if a married couple, of both of them. You should realize that when we look at the pictures of of loved ones, we recall all the past times we were together, pictures they sent us from afar, from travel and college, pictures of them in school functions, etc., and this gives us a loving renewal. It is hard to explain to younger people, but, believe me it is important. Grandparents are so proud of grandchildren and the photo-memories are happily satisfying to us.
You may feel that it would make them think you egotistical that you would give them the photo. Not so. Remembrance is all that many grandparents have of family members. Should you choose, you may give it in addition to a written card. A "Promise Card" so to speak. Just take the Greeting Card and write a promise on it. For example: Clean the Garage, or Wash the Car, or Walk the Dog...maybe help with yard work. It will be something that they would normally do, but you could for them. They certainly could not ask you to return it !!
P.S. If they already have a current photo, get one with a Santa Hat, that will make it special and give them a memory of this specific Christmas. Also, don't get trapped into thinking the present must be in a big package. The value is within.

the best thing u can give ur grandma is something u made... grandparents is not about anything new. they like the ones that has a deep meaning.. like maybe collages of her grand kids or her kids.. or a handmade christmas card, or just something that u made on ur own.. trust me, they will appreciate that more and would keep it until the last day of their lives...

Go to Hallmark or similar card store. Buy one of those snowglobes that you can insert a wallet-sized picture in. Insert a picture of yourself.
They can never take it back and won't question that gift, especially if you earned the money to get it.
