I can't go into hibernate on my laptop anymore. It shuts down, then automatically turns on again. I noticed that this happened after one of those automatic update things restarted my computer after installing. Any ideas?

i thing there is some problem with your hard disk
so better use an "live cd" it an whole operating system on a cd and it can run the computer without a hard disk.
use it and try to see what is wrong with your hard disk.

this is a sign that your computer might have been infected with a virus. the virus might have been downloaded into your computer while you were downloading updates for the computers. download antivirus program to get rid of the virus.

in basic terms flow to regulate panel/power strategies and click the Hibernate tab and verify off "enable hibernate", and press ok. the different "solutions" blow my ideas and supply me a sturdy snort.

i gues your system is infected wit viruses..
chk for that before trying the rest
