i have a 56k fax modem can i use this also

If the modem is built-in to the computer, connect the phone line to it by inserting the phoneline in one of the modem Line inputs and setup a dial-up account. Check your listings for local ISPs (internet service provider)... try AOL.

If the modem is external, connect the modem using a USB cord or Parallel port cord (whichever is included with the modem), connect the phone line with your modem.

You need to set up a Dial-Up account with an ISP like EarthLink, etc. Make sure to check the connection numbers to make sure they are in your local calling area or you could be charged for each minute of usage.

Just call your internet service provider, and they will set it up for you..
