Wow, well it looks like you'll have to fight for your rights, for everything, don't think you have to be subjected to this.

You need to show them you can help them too, just jump, you will have to change the way you work then, show her you aren't going to stand for it and do stand up for yourself and if you have to grab the work or whatever request if in writing. If not just say I'll get that for you, even for her meaning tell her I got it, or I'll do it or I'll take care of it, but jump, you'll have to really jump before she does. I've been through something similar, remember if you can't win, join them.

Is this person the same grade as you? I'm a Unix System Administrator, but there are Unix Admin I and Unix Admin V positions - who have vastly different responsibilities.

What is your job? What are your responsibilities? What is good performance considered? Understand that, and you can progress.

From what little I'm reading here, she seems to be very competent and everyone is looking to her. To me, it would seem advisable to learn everything she does and perform as well as she does.

Have patience. What you think about yourself may not tally what your employer expects from you. Just watch and after two or three months, if you do not enjoy working there look for an alternative first and then quit.

I hate peole like them. It makes me mad. The only advice I CAN give you is to not use physical violence.*notice I NEVER said emotional or mental, if you catch my drift*....nah Im just egging you on.
So heres the real advice:

Try to accomplish something that she could never do.
