Shile I leave it there. Keep it for myself. Or hand it in to the lost and fond? I don't know what to do. Cause I don't want to be selfish but I don't want to leave five bucks just sitting there do i?

There are always people who need it more than you do. Find one and give to them, wish them a Merry Christmas and feel good for helping make someone else's day better.

Money is genrally unidentifiable. If it were a wallet, purse etc, that goes to the lost and found or you call the person and return it.

Cash, if you didn't, see who dropped it, is yours. there is no reason to be guilty. Now of course if you're in a nursing home around all the occupants, you might ask if anyone is missing $5. No one is likely to claim it unlessthey are and you might be returing it to someone who can't afford to lose $5.

But in general unless it is an enourmous amount you are not ethically wrong in any way.

Now if its a big ole bag-o-cash, call me and well spend ....just kidding!!

if it is a large some, it was probably obtain in an ill gotten way and you should personally take it to the police. they mat know where it was taken from. If not they will keep it a while and then return it to you if no one ca prove it is theirs. Be sure to get a receipt.
