you can give her a cheap necklace unless your rich and can buy her a really expensive one or you can give her a picture of you to remember you at work or anything that fits her personality tell her you love her.that's everything any parent wants, but if you insist on a gift than make a hand written contract to do small chores around the house i.e: dishes, take the garbage out, feed the dog....you know the stuff mom doesn't always have time for A gift card is always good. How about one to her favorite store (Macy's? Barnes and Noble? Target?) or one to a spa for a pedicure or massage. Bath stuff is also really nice. You could go to Bath and Body Works and get a set in her favorite scent.

One of the nicest things my kids ever gave me was a gift certificate to one of the local day spas. You don't have to spend a ton of money. Even a small eye lift treatment, less than $20, is really worth it's weight in gold. It's one small indulgence that I did use and totally loved.
But between you and me, now that all my kids are out of the house, the best thing they could give me is their time. An hour in a coffee shop sharing secrets over hot coffee and trading stories or listening to what's going on in their life .. it's become one of those priceless things.
Even a 15 minute walk around the block just talking to them is preferred to anything you could bring me from the mall.

im not sure if someone else has said this but a gift card is always the best present. Try one that can be used in any store or a store your mom likes. That way she can pick out what she wants. An extra I love you and thanks for everything doesnt hurt either.

As a mom, I gotta tell ya, make up some coupons for her to redeem. You can print them on your computer, or design and color by hand, or use the fronts of christmas cards, etc. My kids have done this for me and I've done it for them. She will be thrilled with "Free dishwashing and kitchen clean-up", or "Free babysitting" or "Good for one batch of your favorite cookie" ....I'm sure you get the idea. Trust me....your mom will love them AND redeem them!
Merry Christmas and Happy Coupon Making!

she sounds so much like me - maybe get her a pair of bedroom mox or a bottle of nice face cream for night use or sunblock or fragrant liquid soap - it'd be something she needs because she probably wants nothing at this time, anymore.
