So the Betta fish i asked about on here a few days ago still hasn't died. You know, the one that looks like he has internal bleeding in his head? Well, I have been trying to take really good care of im...

i clean his bowl every day instead of the usual twice a week.

I added Melafix to the water to try to help him too.

I thought the reason he stopped eating was because he didn't feel well enough too but... my fish is blind

I noticed a few days ago that his eyes were red and treated him as soon as i saw but... he is BLIND

i did the mirror test. Unlike my other healthy Bettas he did not respond at all to his own reflection. He cant see the food so he cant eat.

I don't know what to do now except keep treating him, changing his water and attempting to feed him.

Does anyone know what i can do to help him. And, does anyone know how long it should take him to die... it makes me sad to keep taking care of him in his condition.

I didnt see your last post so im commenting off the cuff.

Can you post pics of his eyes? I dont think he is blind but rather he has an internal bacterial infection.

Melafix will ease his symptoms for now but wont cure him.

Join UK Betta Forum and post pics and all info so we can save your fish!

The first mistake you are making is changing his water every day unless you are using water that has been allowed to sit 24 hours......using fresh water every day can and will kill him.....this could cause him to quit eating........if he is indeed blind......he will have a film over his eyes and because he does not respong to the mirror does not mean he is blind......if he is sick.....he is not going to act normal.......if on chance he is blind......he will find his food when he gets hungry.......now here is what to do......once you have changed his water.......leave him alone after feeding him a small amount and do not change water for at least several weeks and then have aged water to use.......leave him alone and if he is not to far gone.....he will pull out of it....
