Although this is kind of a stupid question, the Ninja Turtles are all artists from the Renaissance era, Van Gogh was an impressionist.

I think all the others were Italian....
Van Gogh wasn't. And it would be pretty lame to have a Ninja Turtle named Van Gogh.

The Turtles were named after Splinters favorite renassiance artist. Since Van Gogh wasn't a painter during that time period, I'm guessing that he wasn't an option.

Turtles' ears are very small. The loping of one ear did not make a dramatically interesting cartoon character, so they scrapped Van Gogh.
