i am almost 9 weeks pregnant, and i work in retail( i am a store manager) since it is the holiday season, we are extremely busy and i have to work well over the 40 hours. Is there any risks to the pregnancy and if so, what could i do to try and lower the risk/impact of working so much?!

You need to rest every chance you get. Put your feet up and close your eyes. Most of all remember to breathe and eat properly.

I do not think that there are any scientific facts that state that there are risks unless you are under a lot of stress. Matter of fact, the more you are active, the better and easier the pregnancy and that is a scientific fact. So work away until the last 2 months of your 3rd trimester, if you can work even more then do it! The more the better! Good luck and have a safe and wonderful pregnancy!

Though you are in your first trimester, and many don't even know that they are pregnant at this point, this is a question best answered by your physician. The answer for you may be much different than the answer for another because of your health, heredity, environment, or other factors. It is good that you are concerned but please seek competent professional advice on this one.

It should be fine. Just make sure you eat well, drink plenty, sleep enough at night, and sit down when ever you can.

Listen to your body if something does not feel right.
