okay well first of all im 13, and ive liked a couple of guys before, but not anymore. im in grade 8, and next year ill be in high school. i sit next to a guy in my class, that a kid has been sayin tht were lovebirds, and tht we like eachother. well im really really shy around the guy. hes popular, and im not.im the second ugliest girl in my class too. im trying to convince myself tht i dont like him, and tht in 1 year, it will all be over. but i know tht i sort of like him. what should i do?
he also asks me questions for math and stuff alot and never asks the person tht sits beside him

maybe you could ask around and see if he likes you, too? maybe he like you too and is also shy. i mean, i'm in 8th grade, too. i have a boyfriend, we have been together for like almost 7 months now.

liking someone has nothing to do with how you think you may look. You sound very smart for 13 so hear goes,
first: never ever sell yourself short others will do that for you

second: if you think you like someone and you dampen that because you have a bad self image then you have lost before you start

third: he obviously respects you but I remember being 13 as a guy and a total nerf-head about the opposite sex

fourth: if he keeps asking you questions suggest that if you guys studied together some times in study hall or whatever you could see if he thinks that's a good idea and maybe get a hint as to whether he really deserves your attention and maybe liking him.

above all else believe in your worth. I am ugly as hell but I am a nice guy and get along with women just fine because nice wins over looks in every case where it really counts.... oh yes and make him pay your for being his tutor..... lol.

well first of all, if u continue to say "oh im the 2nd ugliest" and all, then thats really bad, cause ur just comparing urself to others, and everyones different..so whos to compare?/?
Second of all, try to see yourself in a new way. Instead of thinking negative thoughts, be like, hey, this guy is taking the time to talk to ME so i must not be that ugly or unpopular.
So before you get to liking him, start with some confidence-building.

You obviously like him, and you know you like him. I think what you're really asking is, is this what falling in love is, or real love? Assuming that's what you're asking, then no, but close. You have a crush, and a crush can progress to falling in love, and after that possibly real love, but at this point you're too young to understand what real love is about. But it feels nothing like falling in love or being "in love."

And like others have said, don't sell yourself short! Self-confidence is very attractive to everyone, and people who aren't confident aren't very attractive. And I also think you should ask him to come over and study or study in the library or whatever, it'll be helpful to you to get to know him better, and that's all part of the fun of learning the dynamics of relationships.

i know exactly how you feel. i used to like this guy named Aidan. he was a year older. first i wanna say that i am in seventh grade. i did't blame you for not wattin to listen to a seventh grader if you dont want to. but anyway, his name was aidan. blond hair, blue eyes. he was adorable. well he is in eith grade this year and up until about the first week of november i was so depressed that this was his last year at the middle school. so i thought i have to do somthin. and realise i am not all that pretty. i am not popular but i am not a geek. but neway. my friend who is super pretty went to talk to him. he said no i would never go out with a **** in sevent grader. espically one who is as ****** ugly as that bicth. so i am sorry if this is depressing. but you could always have a friend talk to him if you want to.
