One of my vertabrae on my upper back, very close to my neck, is very sore. It hurts constantly, and the slightest movement can make the pain worse. It hurts on both sides on my back/shoulders, and gets worse when i move my arms a certain way (above my head, put my elbows back, etc.) What could this be? What can be done to fix it?

Can you touch your chin to your chest? If not, you may have meningitis. Very serious, see a doctor for that.

If a good night's sleep doesn't make you feel better, see a doctor anyways.

Dude your screwed, lol. Seriously, the vertebrae between your shoulder blades is an extreme surgery and would only be performed in a paralysis situation. I have a bad disk also in that area. The surgeon explained it this way. To get to that area of the spine they have to go in from the front. That means cutting open your chest like open heart surgery, temporarily removing a lung to get to the spine between the shoulder blades. Furthermore, most patients complain of life long pain from the surgery site and wish they would not have had the surgery in the first place. I learned what aggravated mine and avoid those motions (i.e. no more racket ball/tennis, etc.) and take ibuprofen daily to keep the pain/inflammation tolerable. Feel free to e-mail me if I can be of any further assistance.

Is everyone asking about strains, sprains, etc. crazy tonight? Doctors aplenty but most are not on the internet. Go to one and stop expecting x-rays and diagnoses from all of us old witches and warlocks.
