I can say with certainty that the word was "sobriquet", as I came across this quote: 'V for Vendetta will go down in history as the most popular movie ever to include the word "sobriquet." ' It seems to be the word of the film! A sobriquet is a nickname. It is a French word which for some reason has been adopted in English, despite the fact that we had a perfectly good word for it already!
