I know this will sound gay but the worst injury I received was a gymnastic one. I was leaping over the 'horse' during gym class and the guy at the other end wasn't paying attention. I caught my **** on the 'horse' and landed on my right knee and could barely move for 6 months. 20 years later the injury still gives me problems. (Sometimes I can barely get off my settee to reach for my next drink. It's a terrible affliction!)

What's your worst injury?

OK it was a fine one, my mate showed me his new boots on Easter Weekend, his big new boot met with my front tooth, cracked it, we where out drinking so I thought what the hell even though the nerve of the tooth was `hanging out` to give me pain (could cause pain with my tongue!), so what can you do.... take a load of Sambuca.. straight, fine... sorted... woke up next morning.... excruciating pain, went to the Dental Hospital a big black dude sat on my lap gave me 3 injections in the root of tooth, not enough as I was very unhappy (tears) more injections, then pulled the tooth nerve out, it was SORE! and bloody.

my worst injury is a pinched sciatic nerve in my left leg after not doing what my mother always told me to do as a child: undo my shoelaces before taking the shoes off. While I was pulling my trainers off, I lost my balance, fell back and found that I couldn't walk properly when I landed. That was 4 years ago and although I've had physio on it, my left leg still causes my great pain from time to time out of the blue. The most frustrating thing of all is that this injury was the result of something so stupid but it stops me from doing so many things aometimes, such as walking, running, climbing up the stairs, shifting my sleeping position, jumping and getting up from a chair (this is either because my hamstring muscles go into spasm-to protect the sciatic nerve, or the sciatic nerve is sore).

So, let this be a warning to all! Do what your Mum says!

The worst injury I have had was when I fell down a flight of 20 steps, cracked my head open and broke my femur, the bones slid so they were next to each other and the paramedics had to pull my leg to put the bones back in the right position, only they werent qualified to give pain relief only gas and air, it hurt like hell. I had to have a pin put in from my hip to my knee and 2 years on it still hurts, but ive just found out that one of the screws in my knee has broken in two! ouch!

My worse injury was not as bad as that but it felt like it.lol.
I feel off my horse when i was galloping down a little hill heading for a jump, just as we landed after the jump i fell off and completely smashed my shoulder bone to pieces, then i was so scared of loosing my confidence jumping that i didnt realise i was hurt and got back on to do it again, and again fell of in the exsact same place, and same way this time breking my shoulder blade in 2 places, i got back on for a third attempt but pain had set in now, and i was stuck with my teacher in a feild on my horse for an hour till the paramedics came and got my off the horse.

I spent a year in hospital & full-time residential medical care following a car crash.
I am physically not the same now as before the crash, but seeing the brain damaged survivors at the rehab centre I think that I was one of the lucky ones.

When i was a wee lad of 9, there used to be a sort of play park doon the road fae my hoose. At 1end there were 5 wooden logs set up vertically , about a 1/2foot apart and 5 foot tall. We used to dare each other to walk, then run across them. after it had been raining, we went do to these logs, an i got dared to run over them. on the second log i sliped and slammed onto it ba/lls first. I kind of fell sideways awkwardly onto my left arm, & fractured it an all. Burst baw sack & arm in a plaster, so the council took them away.

1) I was at judo practice and stuck out my arm to stop a fall. I broke my elbow backwards.

2) I jumped down about five feet, and totally crushed my right heel. It's a bone shaped like an egg under the ankle. I didn't jump far so it surprised me. It hurt like hell. My foot never healed right, but I get by pretty well.

I was on my bicycle, ironically, on a short journey to buy a helmet when someone opened their car door and my bike went into it.
I had a gash on my head which needed 9 stitches and my arm had an open wound filled with road dirt, both knees were crushed and some skin was scraped from my hand.
It was pretty bad.
