I have 2 ferrets, and would like to get them on some type of insurance. What company would you recommend? How much would something like this cost? Is it economical?

In my opinion, you're better off taking the money per month and putting it in a savings account. Say that pet insurance is $30/month per animal, and multiplied by 2, it's $60/month. At the end of a year, you could put away $700. There's a gamble that one of your ferrets could eat something stupid and require a $1000 operation, but if they don't need that, you've blown $700 for nothing. Say they need an operation 4 years from now. Hey, good deal... you saved money, right? Well, not when you add up that you paid $2800 over the four years into insurance that only yielded back $1000.

Go ahead and see what the insurance will cover and how much it costs every month. Some insurances will cover yearly exams and stuff. But really do the math out for what it will cost per year and look closely at what they will and will not cover. Personally, I just don't trust that it's worth paying out all that money on the off chance that I'll get some of it back.
