my step son dis likes me because i am hard on him because his mom lets him fdo everything and anything and so that he dont walk all over me and his dad i am really hard on him but he also know i only do it cause i care

I didn't like my step parents because in my mind I just wanted my own parents to be together. I didn't like the 'other woman' especially if she tried to be like a mother to me. I remember in my head thinking 'this lady isn't my mother, so she should leave me alone' that was many moons ago, but now as an adult i find i don't like my step parents because i believe they are not good enough for my mom or dad. Maybe it's just me, but they all seem phony or over nice, I can respect a person more if they just be themselves

they feel you are taking away the love their dad or maom has for u, they want their parents together and resent u, thinking that if u were not in the picture maybe there parents would still be together. maybe there are certin rules now in place that weren't before u arrived in the relationship. definitly due to resentment, and hopes if they can cause u enough grief that maybe their parents can get back together.

They think inside that you are trying to replace their biological parent. They feel like they are not being loyal to their mom or dad.
You also may be seen as someone who is going to take their parent's attention away from them.

Because you can NEVER be a substitute of their real parent, at least that's how they see you. Don't be disheartened - this is typical of all other step relationships, it's not abnormal or that you are not good.

Maybe because they feel like you are trying to take the place of their mom or dad.

They don't they just don't know how to deal with step parents and they probably feel a little uncomfortable.

because your not the thier birth mother or father they want to be raised by the wo people who made them not by a step.

because maybe they dont want a new mom in there life or a dad in wat ever way or maybe the way you may act around them take them out to places and get them things that there interested in
