Around 1990 or so I remember hearing a song called Christmas in Oregon. I remember bits and pieces of the song, but when I tried to do a Google search, no luck at all...Google does not recognize a song called Christmas in Oregon. Would be nice to know the full song again...here's the bits I do know

*Every year Santa Claus comes to town...and every year the reindeer almost drown* and later *Christmas Oregon style, haven't had a white one in a while, Christmas, Oregon style, that's Christmas in the rain...well that's Christmas just the same*

Anyone know where I can find this? Or is it a *lost cause*?

I found a possibility, but don't have any way to verify it. In 1991, Christina Eastman released a CD called "Merry Christmas From Oregon" with a song on there with the same title. These are the songs on the CD: Mary's boy child -- All through December -- White Christmas -- Plastic Christmas -- Silent night -- All you believe -- Prince of peace -- Family, friends and Christmas -- Silver bells -- Santa Claus is coming to town -- Merry Christmas from Oregon.

The Multnomah County Library in Portland owns this CD. If you think this possibility is worth pursuing, I suggest contacting the library with the question and include the lyrics you remember, and ask them if there is any way they can compare them to the song on this CD to see if it's the right one. You can even email them the question: http://www.multcolib.org/contact/

A Google search found a page that gives a little more information on Christina Eastman, and it looks like there are some sample songs you can listen to: http://www.garageband.com/artist/christinaeastman . Maybe her voice will sound familiar, or if it doesn't, maybe you can rule her out.

Good luck!

I would search online for a library, music library, and/or historical archive (in Oregon?), that might be able to locate a song by title and lyrics. Usually the librarian at the reference/information desk can find anything, but since this is so specific you may try asking for a reference to a more specialized type of library or archive, or ask if there is one that collects Christmas music.

* One music library sent me sheet music to a song from a Broadway musical that is not available commercially or to the public but is out of print.

* My brother went through a library to locate an English translation of a book of poetry my grandfather wrote in Vietnamese.

I would also check radio stations, in case that is where you heard it.
