I run a small bridal/costume shop and am about to go under. How can I get "the word" out fast that I'm here and YOU NEED TO COME SEE ME!???

Business cards!!!! They are cheap and plentiful. Stick them up everywhere.
At the bank, schools, insurance agents, hospitals, everywhere. It really
does work.

Word of mouth, make flyers. Check the newspapers for people who are announcing their engagements, and try to find a way to contact them. Newspapers to me seem to be the cheapest form of advertising. You'll also have to find a way to make people spread the word about you.....something to bring attention to you, something to set you apart from everyone else. Go the extra mile for them. Get the local TV station to do a piece on people renting Santa suits. You need to have a staged presentation for them. Preferablly humerous and not hurtful to small children believers.

newspaper is probably the cheapest but maybe not most effective. u can also make fliers.
