I'm of two thoughts.
1. 50 year old women look ridiculous in junior style clothes, even if they have a hot body. There is something sad about a older woman in a mid-drift top and a mini-skirt. Do you see Sharon Stone or Demi Moore wearing that? No, because it's not classy.
2. There are plenty of stylish clothes for older women who have a good body, but that are more appropriate for your age. Think "hot for the teacher" look.

This is neither a compliment or insult, she is just stating fact at 50 you should know better than to dress in junior styles of clothing. Grow up and stop embarrassing your daughter.

Well I am not fifty or older. . . sorry. But, I will be thirty next year. I am told that I don't look like I will be thirty or that I have a six year old son. I dress young, but I don't try to show it off. I think that your daughter is trying to change your image. Why, well there could be more to this. Maybe you have aggravated her and she is just trying to get back by hurting your feelings, or maybe she thinks you are showing too much skin. You can still dress young without showing it all off. It is up to you. . . it is your body. I think you should ask her. . . maybe you might appreciate what she has to say. Possibly you might not agree right off, but you might agree to change if she points out something that you might have not noticed. But, whatever it is. . . don't let her opinion make you feel bad about your image. You sound like you had confidence until she made this statement. Keep that in mind, if you two are arguing. . . maybe she is just trying to hurt your feelings. . just listen to what she has to say, and make up your own mind. Who knows, maybe she is jealous. . .

When I'm just chillin, I like to wear sweats. It's comfy, but good enough to leave the house in =] And I have medium-ish hair. It's about an inch or two below shoulder length. More on the long side I guess.

I'm not sure I'd take it as an insult even though it sort of is. I think she's trying to tell you how she feels about how you look and maybe she wants a mom, not a friend. I think she just wants you to look closer to your own age so she can take you more seriously.

Take it as a compliment, IF you are not still trying to dress/look like a teenager, at least.
