It's really easy. It requires your mouse but not your keyboard because all you need to do i copy and paste from the character map that is available in Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Character Map. It's just there!

search
choose files and folders
type character map
the symbol is in the tenth row on the extreme right

On your toolbar, go to insert, then special character, then select the pi symbol from the table that will appear.

π can be inserted into any application by using the ASCI code for it. Hold down the "alt" key and using the number keys type 227 Then release the alt key. A π will appear.
This works for any of the ASCI character set

goto
start menu ---> programs---> accessories-----> systemtools--->character map....then select the pi symbol or any other required....u can minimise the map and as and when u require the symbols u can use them on ur documents.....
