im almost done with my b.a. in sociology, and I want to go to grad school soon and earn my masters in social welfare. will some social work jobs (which i would apply for after i earn my b.a.)pay for me to go to graduate school, or is this something that ill definitely have to do on my own budget? (i live in the bay area, california, where theyre in need of social workers with masters degrees.)

Your best bet for getting paid is thorugh Child welfare. You will want to look for a school with CALSWEC. Other employers may, but it will be very individualized. You may also look at grants and scholarships.

Well I know if you join the reserves, they pay for college or some of it. You have to serve 4 or 5 years(somewhere around that) but you get paid for serving. And what you major in is what you would do. Like if you went to school to become a nurse, the army would pay for you to go to college. After you graduate you have to serve but you would be a nurse at a military clinic. It's a pretty good deal, you get college paid for and you have a paying job after you graduate. What I said may not be everything that's involved with doing this but it's the general idea. I don't know if it covers grad school, but I was just letting you know that options out there.
