Yes they do but not before Christmas or even the Christmas after
Some magnets come with "keepers" that help preserve them but basically they last longer if connected to something

Depends on what they are made. I only buy good quality magnets from the magnet store. You should do the same.

yep, for example, if you heat them up enough, then they loose the ability to correlate to the magnetic field.
