My son is in the second grade and his best friend is a girl. They have been asking to have a sleepover. I feel that it is okay but my husband does not feel the same way. The girls mom is a close friend of mine and is okay with it. What do you think.

Why not? There'll be other problem. But that'll come later on.

If they're only in 2nd grade, I think it'd be fine. I mean come on what're they going to do? Just make sure that you "check in" on them every few hours before they go to sleep. I'd say you draw the line once they get to about 9 years old, because that is when kids enter the "tween" age, and start to have feelings that could end in something that you don't wnat to happen. But it is unlikely that two 2nd graders are going to use a sleepover as a chance to have sex or something dirty like that. If they do, well, your son has issues and should see a professional IMMEDIATELY! But I'm sure you're a good enough parent not to teach your son things like that.

Let them have the sleepover jus don't let them sleep in the same room if your husband is really shakey about it let them sleep in the front room in front of the tv where your husband can periodically go out there and check up on them they'll think it is cool cuz they getr to sleep in front of the tv and watch movies all night and dnever think anything of the kids are happy and your husband might feel a lil more comfortable

contrary to what these OTHER people are saying. I would say, don't let them have it. because as they get older. they're going to want to have MORE and MORE sleepovers. And they are going to want girls to be there. So, it's your call. Do you want more and more sleepovers to happen? especially when your son is in 5th grade, and even 9th grade. you can't change a parenting rule later on in life, do you want your kids to hate you?

Of course it's okay. They are in the second grade for crying out loud.

I'm not sure what your husband's hang up over this is, but I hope it's not genetic and won't be passed on to your son.

First how old are they? It cute when they are young, but remember they are still just as curious. Will they be sleeping in the same room or bed? Ask your self this question, if they are of teenage years " Do you want to be a grandmother in nine months?" that should tell you whether or not to let the sleep over happen.

I think you should allow him to have the sleepover. He is only in the 2nd grade, it's not like you have too much to worry about.

As long as they are supervised it will be fine. Have your friend join them on their sleepover maybe in the livingroom. make sure they are kept busy with activities. and the kids should have a talk about what is and isnt apropiate. Talk to your husband about it make sure he is comfortable with it when your son goes.

How sweet! Too bad your husband does not think so. Ask your husband to chaperon the sleepover with you. Maybe he will feel more at ease.

I do not think you should go against your husband even if I do think that it is harmless. Need to keep dad involved with the rearing of your son. If you can convince your husband that there will be plenty of parental involvement, he may come around.

I think so because if you think about it you know the girl's mom, and they are only in 2nd grade. I mean come on they're just kids.
