The author sends it to a publisher, where they revise and correct it, until it is the best it can be. Then they print and bind it etc. Then it is a wonerful book!

different publishers have different guidlines, some want you to send the manuscript while others want you to send a proposal. They usually have specific guidlines as to what they will and wont accept so you need to check before submitting anything. There are also literary agents that can act on your behalf.
