I mean, why say something, and not do it? Like not follow through with what you say? Any insight?

Because we expect a return, an answer a response, but we don't get it. So we stop in midstream. We hate when this happens. Sometimes we feel badly but we don't let others know.
Sometimes it's a matter of not having enough self-control. We can't believe in, in ourselves as much as we would like, and that's the disappointment.

And then we hear about the dissapointment from others, and we pretend we don't feel it too.
Sometimes, we meet friends, and they see right through us. And then they really do become our friends, because they accept us for what we are, just being ourselves.

I pray for forgiveness for everyone I have ever hurt, and ever dissapointed. I am sorry for my mistakes.

I don't know where that came from, but I guess something in the way you wrote it, let this out.

GOD bless.

People are stupid

.. no, really.
The main reason in my opinion is the person thinks they're better then what their actions say, like saying to yourself "this is the last brownie." then going back 10 min later and taking another one. We have an ideal for ourselves, but 99.9% of the time, we don't come close to living up to our ideal, but still say and dream of that ideal of behaviour.

in psychology, it is called cognitive dissonance. saying some things yet doing the opposite of it. also, it is a form of defense mechanism --- reaction formation. maybe because the person is trying to suppress some things in his/her mind, which leads him/her to creating stories or reasons that can cover up to his/her shortcomings.

Well, there are some people out there that are unresponsible. But for me, most of the time, I say that I won't do it, but I end up doing it. lol.

That's called hypocrisy.

Or it's because they don't really believe it themselves, or they were just lying.
