In Sea-Tac Airport, A Rabbi requested of the removal of Christmas Tree at the Airport or He will filed a suit. Christmas is celebration of Jesus Christ being born as Man. You notice the word is Christ---mas. I know anti -christians want to celebrate this day as Xmas. This not anti-christians celebration.
This Country of America was founded on the Christian Holy Book. Elected Officials swear on the Holy Bible. US Courts use the Holy Bible.
You have freedom in America to pratice your Religion.

I was in Seattle during my 4 hours lay -over when the workers were putting up the Trees. I saw many smiles of adults & children and conversations during the workers hard work. My layover was well enjoyed
I have read the Bible, I suggested to take Jeremiah 10:1-10 verses to educated Christians, it has nothing to do with Christmas Trees. If you look at Christmas Trees as a pagan celebration it will be. If look at Christmas Trees as Celebration of the Birth of Christ it will be. I will use as a Celebration. Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

The Rabbi did not ask that the trees be removed but that a Menorah be put up to represent Hanukkah. I am Christian and it does not bother me, but then again I know Christmas is not about the tree.

You have the story wrong. The rabbi requested the addition of a menorah. The airport officials chose to remove the trees, instead. A spokesman said that they would have to add symbols for every religion; so, it would be easier to remove the trees.

What does belief in or respect for freedom of religion mean; not to set one above another?

I hardly think an anti-christian would celebrate Xmas, an advertising convenience. From where did the Christmas tree tradition come? More importantly, why are you so angry? Sounds like your house could use some work, my friend. Take care of your speck, the "holy spirit" is quite capable, thank you.

Actually, the Rabbi DID NOT ask for the removal of the Christmas Trees at the Sea-Tac Airport, he simply REQUESTED that a menorah be added so that the Jewish holiday of Channikah (sorry about the spelling I am not Jewish) would be commemorated as well as it is happening at this time of year as well. In order to avoid having to try to accomodate all the different religions/beliefs, the folks at Sea-Tac decided just to take the Christmas trees down. They didn't want someone requesting KWANZA stuff, etc. At the REQUEST of the same Rabbi, the airport returned the Christmas trees. Please get your facts straight.

Also, Christmas trees ARE a pagan symbol. (Yes I have several). Also, Jesus was born Jewish. And, as a Jew Jesus would have celebrated hannukah and he would have lit a menorah. He never would have had a Christmas with a Christmas tree as it didn't exist!!!

America was founded on the fact that ALL men are created EQUAL. People came to America to flee religious persecution. You seem to have quite a lot of hate for non-Christians in you and you also show that you are very misinformed about the whole idea of Christianity and Christmas.

Xmas is NOT anti Christian either.
In early Greek versions of the New Testament, the letter Χ (chi) is the first letter of Christ Since the mid-sixteenth century Χ has been used as an abbreviation for Christ.

My goodness READ a book----go to the library and get educated on HISTORY. You should also learn how to interpret news stories instead of assuming that everyone is out to get Christians. When I see or hear Christians talk like you, it breaks my heart to think that you profess the same religion I do.

Jesus loves EVERYONE and he was born a JEW. Personally, I always thought that the true symbol of a Christian Christmas was the Nativity Scene. DUH!! That Rabbi would have been doing Christianity a favor by having those Christmas Trees removed.

BTW, I will pray that you learn the TRUE teachings of Jesus Christ and that your heart, thoughts and actions become ones of Jesus' TRUE Christian Faith. Jesus had two commandments that he gave his followers: The most important one being: to love your brother as yourself.

Oh yeah, you should definitly hit Wikipedia and learn about the Bible--the Old Testament is completely Jewish in nature and Christians use it. There are a lot of other things you could learn there. Try "JESUS," "Christmas Tree," "Saturlina--the pagan holiday that was replaced by the good old fashioned American Christmas Christians and "non-religious" Americans love so much.

The Gadfly is correct. The Christmas tree is a pagan thing. Look in Jeremiah 10:2-6. I wish MORE Christians would read their Bible and do as God says....not what churches say. BTW...I didn't learn this till I left the church and started studying on my own.

Oh, I do believe that the X is Greek for Christ.

Actually he request the airport put up a menorah as well.
They refused fear other religions would want displays. they removed the Christmas trees.
on another note; since "Christmas Trees" were co-opted from the pagan Druids and Celts I would say no.

No they are not. they're in simple terms a ornament. Jeremiah is speaking approximately reducing a tree down and making a wood sculpture, coating it with melted silver and gold. The Christmas tree replaced into exceptional on the time. Martin Luther incredibly popularized it. In a feeling, it incredibly is an imitation of a fruit tree. yet we can take a good lesson from it: because of the fact the "fruit" does not come from the lofe of the tree, it is not smart, in simple terms tremendously to look at. contained in an analogous way, in the experience that your love, exhilaration, peace, etc. are in simple terms issues you place on, and not the fruit of the Spirit of God interior of you, then they are not probably smart the two. they're synthetic.

There is also the freedom not to force your religion on everyone else.
I'm a Christian, by the way. Besides, the tree has nothing to do with Christ; it is the remnant of a pagan religion.

No. Christians believe that everyone is out to "get them" for wanting to be respected.

Freedom of all religion means ALL religions.

This country was not founded on Christianity. And maybe a lot of people are realizing religion is fake.
