My daughter has bypass constipation, and the doctor said to give her prune juice, but when I try to give it to her, she doesn't like it, and wont swallow it, How can I make it so she gets some at least...She's pretty smart, and even if I use a dropper she'll spit it out, I just want to get some in her, to try and help her relieve this constipation, it's very painful for her, and she cries all night long, i just want to sleep, and let her be pain free!!! Thanks!

What me and my wife tried is mixing it with his formula. Usually one to one ratio. My son didn't like prune juice either. But what I purchased was the "Gerber" prune apple and mixed it with his formula , He was able to get some down and have a movement.

Try putting very small amounts in her bottle, like 1/2 ounce in a bottle 2 times a day or so and see if this helps her. There are many different things your doctor can do for her regarding constipation, prune juice is not the end all and be all. If I were you I would try to stimulate her rectum and give her a warm bath. If she hasn't gone recently you can give her either an enema or suppository so she is more comfortable, but this cannot be an everyday occurance. Ask your doctor about malt supex, it is a wonderful laxative for babies to keep their stools loose and it is very safe to use long term.

The orange juice is in simple terms too acidic on your babies tummy and can convey approximately inflammation adn a diaper rash. i'm telling you that there are different possibilities: attempt mashed banana, and a a million/2 a teaspoon of prune juice. then supply toddler some water or breastmilk. this ought to help, if no longer call a diverse wide-spread practitioner for a 2d opinion, then yet another for a 0.33.

have you tried sweetening it up? She still may not like it, maybe try it in some chocolate milk or hot chocolate, prune juice you can still get the effects of it even if it is warm. . .. And if it still does not work, try cooking with prunes, like making a prune sauce that she can swallow easy. good luck, but i know from experience that putting it in hot chocolate worked and i know not too hot, she is really young! . you can barely taste it

I would call the doctor and ask if there is something else I could give her, like applesauce or apple juice. I know apple juice has a similar effect but you should ask your doctor first. Most physicians will have other suggestions.

Milk and chocolate can cause consipation (At least in my family) so I would avoid them.

Try a little sugar. I mixed 1 ounce of water and 1 ounce of prune juice and warmed it. He drank it slow and it worked. Hope it gets better.

Gross. I think you should check with your doctor to make sure that prune juice is safe for an infant.
