in the first place my race was here first, American Indian, but no-one ever says anything about us and we are the ones that taught him about how to grow food and survive now we are the ones that are called drunks and nothing but garbage. i have a nursing education and i am also an occupational therapist, but according to the history books Columbus discovered America,we were here first and look at the cruelty we have been through and the brutality of our own neighbors,i don't tell anyone that i am an Indian because people are still very prejudice against us.Check on the Trail of tears and see the cruelty. why did people starve to death or freeze to death, babies died why? the reason was the rich man saw all the land and saw dollar signs. Our own goverment has not kept there promises to the Indians. good luck because there is a lot of negative things about Indians and 99% is not true because the goverment wrote it

Hmmm, the whole political view of the world. Asia, Africa, and Europe's population would be significantly larger. Now lets say no one discovered the Americas then for another couple hundred years, since Columbus discovering the Americas was in fact a mistake. The world might still be thought to be flat. The Mayan civilization as well as the Aztec, and all of the Native Americans would still be "ruling the Americas." American inventions would have never came to be, so we still wouldn't have Airplanes, automobiles, the telephone, electricity, democracy, ect.

He didn't "discover" America. There were already indians here they just pretty much kicked them out and put them in reservations. Americans had an idea called the "Manifest Destiny" in which they believed they had the God-given right to territorial expansion and to spread democracy. So Americans used this idea to justify themselves in kicking out the indians in events such as the "Trail of Tears" where they kicked out native americans.

His contributions were fueled on competitive exploration rather than discovery, so not much would be changed.
